i ventured into one of the craziest areas of sao paulo today. some people claim it's one of the busiest streets in the world. it's where EVERYONE goes to do their shopping. i stepped off the metro and couldn't believe how crowded it was. it was a little overwhelming. but it was fun. 

zoe promo

this is just a short promo video for zoe.

this video will be used at conferences in the united states to give college ministers who are interested in bringing volunteer teams to work with us an idea of how zoe works.

easter

i haven't dyed easter eggs in a long time.

and i'd forgotten that it is fun.

holidays tend to be difficult here in brazil. i'm away from my family and friends. and with the holidays, come reminders of family traditions. but i'm blessed to be a with a family here in brazil that is so sensitive to things such as this. melody prepared a great lunch after we all shared a devotion together on easter morning. the easter holiday was different this year...but good.

and it's when i'm left without the comforts of family traditions during the holidays, that i'm forced to really remember why i'm celebrating. jesus died for me and rose again three days later. he's alive today. and that's why i'm here now. that's why i'm in brazil. and so this time that was difficult, god used to remind me of why i'm where i am.

new church plant

god never ceases to amaze me. had you told me a year ago that i would be involved in a church plant, i don't know that i would have believed you. god put it on our hearts to start a church near mackenzie university in downtown sao paulo. after much prayer, we believed god wanted to use a student, jonatas, to partner with us. we've spent the last two weeks meeting at his apartment sharing with him our hearts and the vision of zoe. we'll spend the rest of this semester planning and praying together about what is to come. we hope to see things really get started at the beginning of next semester. pray for zoe higienopolis. pray for jonatas. and pray for each of us as we continue to seek christ on his vision and dream for this new church.

is this for real?

these are just a few pictures from campus while hanging with students. i love my job. i get to hang out with college students and share with them how jesus has changed my life. i still wake up nearly everyday and think to myself..."is this for real?!?!?" it's almost too good to be true.

chocolate night

at zoe marajoara (our house church), the first saturday of each month is in english and always has a theme. and the first saturday in april was CHOCOLATE NIGHT. we had nearly 25 students there. not only did we eat a lot of chocolate, but we also talked about love. we had an awesome discussion on what it means to truly love and be loved, not only by one another, but by god. we were also able to share that god sending his son, jesus christ, was the ultimate expression of love. it was a great night. here are a couple of pictures from our time together.
